Poha recipe |   Best and easy way to make poha .

 Personally,  i have always loved poha as it is easy to make and nutrious and it was very often made in our house .

What is poha ?

or pohe is an quick indian breakfast or snack made with beaten rice or flattered rice ,spices, peanuts,and onions . Its a  popular dish in Maharastra and Gujarat cusines but also in many other regions of india .

Now traditionally in the state of maharasthra its known as kanda poha  (kanda =onion) where poha is made with only onion and i personally like that version too but with little bit of badam in it

Now i know that lot of people just add loads of veggies to their poha which they can definitely add but i like to keep simple with onions , badams and little bit of green peas .

 Key Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups of poha
1 medium onion chopped
2 to 3 green chilies chopped
1 curry leaves
1 potato ( optional )
1 1/2tbsp oil
3 to 4 tbsp peanuts
2/3 mustard or rai
2/3 cumuin or jeera
1/4 tumeric or haldi
Salt as needed
Sugar 1 tea spoon (optional )
2 tbsp corriander leaves .

Procedure :-
First - Rinse the poha in a strainer until it turns soft. You can check it if its done by taking flake and pressing it with your thumbs and it should easily break .

Now add some little bit of sugar and salt
Now follow the steps :-

1) heat the pan and add some peanuts
2) pour some oil to the pan and heat it . Now add some mustard and cumins .
3) Now when you hear them to pop add some hing , onion , green chilies
4) Now saulte the onions until they turn lightly pink .
5) Add some tumeric and poha and then cover the pan
6)cook on a low heat
7) Next you can add some corinder leaves and switchoff the gas
8) Taste it and if you like then u can add some lemon to it.
